We have an immediate need for a Military Vehicle Component Subsystem Testing.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Minimum requirements for this role will include a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or closely related field and 12 years of career experience. An expert level of knowledge and strong experience with designing test plans for the automotive vehicle industry is required. Experience with leading engineering teams is required. Prior experience testing components and subsystem in either the commercial automotive industry or military vehicle development industry is required. An understanding of US DOT's Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and Regulations (FMVSS) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) testing for components and subsystems is required. The ability to work independently and to interface effectively with customers and outside vendors is required. The ability to be a "hands on" person who can effectively engage at all levels in the detailed design and testing of these vehicles is required. The ability to travel domestically or internationally on an occasional basis is required.
An MS in Mechanical (MSME) or Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or closely related field is desired. Experience working in an automotive or military vehicle prototype testing environment is strongly desired.
We are seeking an expert in the military wheeled vehicle component subsystem test domain area to lead and mentor a team of engineers in the emerging, high potential Ground Vehicle Systems (GVS) engineering organization. The individual must also be a "hands on" person and be able to actively engage at all levels in the detailed design and testing of these vehicles. We are seeking to expand our automotive technical leadership across several vehicle platforms and domain areas to more efficiently apply innovative solutions and advanced technologies to our GVS products. In this role the engineer will function as our Component / Subsystem Test Engineer for Ground Vehicle Systems. Responsibilities will include developing vehicle component / subsystem test plans, test procedures and identifying test facilities both in-house and offsite necessary to execute the plans and procedures. Ground Vehicles Systems component / subsystem include rolling chassis (engine, transmission, cooling, suspension and frame), Electrical components, C4I components (communication gear, driver vision system, vehicle management system), Diagnostic and Prognostics systems. The engineer will perform vehicle component and subsystem testing and will work independently and interface with customers and outside vendors. The engineer will utilize their understanding of military and / or automotive industry testing routinely. The engineer will apply advanced technical principles, techniques, theories and concepts. The engineer will contribute to the development of new principles and theories. The engineer will work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
Security Requirements: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
