Must be very very strong Unix C++ developer with strong network programming as well.Our client a leading European investment bank specializing in corporate, private and retail banking, and investment is seeking a Market Access C++ Developer Contract position5 months durationNew York, NY SUMMARY Design and develop Market Access Systems software components, to provide low latency and highly reliable market interfaces (order entry) and datafeeds to proprietary trading desks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Understand business requirements of new projects by working with traders and trading support teams. Design and implement software components based on business requirements. Work closely with other internal IT teams to ensure maximum performance of network circuits and market access servers. For Exchange interfaces, communicate with market access providers to fully understand the protocols and order-entry/datafeed processing details. Test to ensure system stability, recoverability, and lowest latency access to market data. Deliver implemented systems into production. Train first-level support staff in the operation of the systems. Develop technical and support documentation for the systems. Communicate progress and problems to management, estimating work schedules and anticipating and avoiding problems. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must have at least a B.S., preferably in Computer Science. Must have at least 5 years experience in software development. Must be proficient in C++ and Unix/Linux. Must have at least 3 years experience building FX systems ? order-entry, datafeed protocols/APIs Must have experience working in low latency, high frequency trading environment Must have excellent communication skills and analytical ability. Experience with iCap EBS Spot Ai, Currenex, HotSpot protocols/APIs desirable Experience with performance analysis, code-optimization is desirable Experience writing Python, PERL and Unix scripts a plus. This function covers incumbents responsible for designing and implementing system and application architecture and associated standards, and for working with developers to ensure that all technology initiatives are implemented within the existing or planned framework.
