Unix/Linux Programmers for AlgoTrading Desk: C++ in New York, NY
Friday, November 27, 2009
My portfolio of clients consist of Trading desks that have built a track record of succeeding in volatile markets for Algorithmic and Quantitative Trading infrastructures. This team is no exception and have built on their solid experience of working within major Investment Banking and Hedge Fund players to provide the core platform for fast-tracking in a Proprietary Trading set-up that they are seeking to expand.Currently the team are looking for an individual who has worked in heavy application development frameworks comfortable with Greenfield projects and where innovative input to how the Trading Systems will evolve will play as just as much a critical function as your ability to migrate between application level and Kernel level programming. Strong applicants will thus be developers who feel comfortable dealing with Real Time and mission critical frameworks with core expertise in C and C++ across Unix/Linux operating systems. Trading systems exposure is less critical compared to a real passion for programming most likely gained before your undergrad degree but honed towards your MSc/PhD level education as well as commercial and/or R&D exposure. The term "high-calibre" applies here as the acute technology grounding will provide a good platform to learn how Algorithmic Systems work and eventually allow for organic growth into more Strategic (read "Quant Researcher" or Quant Trader") roles. That means programming aptitude will be matched only by abstract problem solving ability. Interested? CVs in confidence to discuss. To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
