SCOPE

The selected consultants will perform the following tasks:

Position- A Specialist lll Data Model/Dot Net Developer

Consultant to perform application development and maintenance functions in a Visual Studio .Net environment.

Under the direction of the management, major responsibilities include analysis, design, and development for maintenance and enhancements various student and business related applications. In addition, the consultant(s) may have prime responsibility for the operation and management of the applications. These activities will be related to, but not limited to the following areas:
Manage requirements gathering and analysis
Design Data Transformations and Web Services
Analyze requirements and data access needs and propose file and screen designs
Code new objects (programs) to meet the requirements
Student Data Processing interface with mainframe systems
Design and develop reports
Conduct QA testing

These activities will encompass all project life cycle phases including production support (24/7) and documentation of all tasks in accordance with Department standards.
The applications maintain student and staff information and generate reports and files that may need to be submitted to the Department. The applications involved are in Visual Studio .Net with SQL Server for data management and Active Directory for Identity management.

The minimum core competencies required of each consultant are:
Five or more years of technical experience (Required)
Experience in transactional and dimensional database design (Required)
Object oriented design and programming (Required)
Experience developing stored procedures that interface with SQL Server 2000 (Required)
Experience designing and developing Web applications using VISUAL STUDIO.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, XML, VB.NET, C#.NET Internet Security (Highly Desired)
System Analysis Skills (Required)
Crystal Reporting (Desired)
Good writing and verbal communication skills (Required)
Active Directory, LDAP (Desired)
Biztalk (Desired)

Position- B Specialist ll Data Analyst /Dot Net Developer

Consultant to perform application development and maintenance functions in support of the Enterprise Data Warehouse project. This will be done in a Visual Studio .Net environment.

Under the direction of the management, major responsibilities include analysis, design, development and maintenance of applications implemented in support of the Enterprise Data Warehouse initiative. The applications will deal with the processing of student and business related data. These activities will be related to, but not limited to the following areas:
Manage requirements gathering and analysis
Design Data Transformations and Web Services
Analyze requirements and data access needs and propose file and screen designs
Code new objects (programs) to meet the requirements
Development of ETL packages for interfaces with mainframe systems
Development of stored procedures
Design and develop reports
Conduct QA testing

The Enterprise Data Warehouse will maintain student and staff information and generate reports and files that are used by internal departments, and other city, state and federal agencies. The applications will be in Visual Studio .Net with SQL Server for data management and Active Directory for Identity management.
