Field Technician II is responsible for maintaining and repairing Nextel's cell site equipment and/or integrating EBTS equipment. Responsibility includes:
1) Routine, preventative and corrective maintenance on EBTS & support equipment
2) Expansion work
3) Outage resolutions
4) In-depth network system troubleshooting
5) System performance testing
6) Installation and maintenance of EBTS and power equipment
7) Calibration, tracking and reporting test equipment
8) Respond to and resolve site outages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
9) Inventory EBTS & site equipment (asset management)
10) Install, test & activation of capacity BR’s
11) Conduct T1 testing and troubleshooting
12) Terminate new site T1’s
13) Emergency generator deployment
In addition, the candidate is also responsible for acceptance testing of new sites, installation and commissioning of additional equipment, assisting in customer service troubleshooting resolution, and maintenance of an accurate service logbook.
1) Prior wireless communications experience
2) In-depth RF Knowledge and Troubleshooting skills
3) In-depth T1 Knowledge and Troubleshooting skills
4) Ability to install and maintain EBTS and power equipment
5) Ability to calibrate, track and report related test equipment
6) In-depth knowledge of the following:
a) Wilton (sweeps distance to fault)
b) T-Bird (T-1Testing)
c) 2660 Service Monitor (Bit Error Tests)
d) TFR (RFDS, Receive Sensitivity)
e) ATP (Alarms, BR Stats, etc.)
f) IFTA (Drive test experience, Post processing experience optional)
g) Spectrum Analyzer
h) IDEN Tools
i) Field Pac
j) RF Safety
Minimum Educational Qualifications - Associate degree in related field.
Minimum Experience Qualifications - 3-7 years of related experience.
Supplier will be requried to supply a car for the contractor.
