Websphere Administrator in New York, NY

We require a Websphere Administrator to implement, manage, and monitor multiple Websphere environments.


Responsibilities will include the following: D
Design and installation of Websphere Application Server(WAS), deploying enterprise applications, assembling and configuring new applications, changing or updating application contents, starting, stopping and pinging applications, securing applications, monitoring, optimizing, tuning, and troubleshooting applications, as well as clustering servers for load balancing, failovers and migration. Knowledge of Websphere Horizontal/Verticle Clustering and WebSeal is required.

Other responsibilities will include at least one of the following; ETL Administration (Sunopsis, Pervasive Data Integrator, and WBI), Cognos or MQSeries Administrative training will be provided for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will be a self motivated individual that works well in groups as well as independently and requires little direction to achieve results. The candidate must have a high level of motivation in learning new middleware technologies such as Sunopsis ETL, Pervasive Data Integrator, Cognos ReportNet, MQSeries and/or BMC Patrol.

Preferred Skills:-

The candidate must have proven experience with Websphere 5.1 Admin running on AIX and Solaris platforms. A basic understanding of admin functions in both Solaris and AIX environments, including basic shell scripting. Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies is highly desirable: Cognos ReportNet, MQSeries, Unix Shell scripting, Sunopsis ELT, or Pervasive Data Integrator.
Any knowledge of these products would be considered a big plus.
