I. Position Summary:
Leads the delivery of business solutions for assigned business area. Responsible for defining, planning, monitoring and reporting on planned project deliverables which address JetBlue business requirements as well as supporting production systems that provide the business functionality. Defines and documents product functional specifications, making use of JetBlue standard project management methodology. Manages the product and service delivery cycles to JetBlue business areas, which encompasses the production and review of management and financial reports in addition to providing direction to IT Project Managers and Business Analysts. Manages the overall relationship between IT and assigned business units. Guides the allocation of technical resources to production and support activities.
II. Essential Functions:
System Manager - Specific Functions
? Works with business unit Crewmembers, defines and assists in the design of products or service requirements; Issues product scope, objectives and preliminary budgetary requirements documentation - 20%
? Manages the IT and assigned Business unit relationship ensuring that clear and concise requirements are understood and agreed service levels are maintained - 20%
? Manages production support services for JetBlue Airways' entire systems area, 24x7x365 days a year - 20%
? Defines, develops and finalizes internal and external service level agreements while obtaining business unit agreement - 10%
? Monitors and regularly reports on the progress, availability of resources and budgetary status of approved initializes - 10%
? Works with IT Project Managers, ensures that IT resources are available and clearly understands the business unit requirements - 10%
? Develops and maintains the IT business unit portfolio of services and products - 5%
? Identifies and defines potential areas of costs savings regarding new product requests - 3%
? Ensures that JetBlue IT and business standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with Company policies - 2%
? Ensures continued accountability for product and services delivery within assigned business units and across IT
? Supervises Project Managers, Project Leads and Business Analysts
Manager Level - Core Functions
? Interfaces with IT and business discipline leadership to ensure appropriate support of IT projects
? Works closely with project teams, vendors and other groups to coordinate plans and activities
? Provides continuance guidance and regularly assesses requirements ensuring that project funding, resources and product specifications are aligned to business expectations in accordance with IT policies, standards and procedures
? Manages a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously, potentially across multiple business units
? Provides overall direction for the service delivery function to assigned departments
? Provides oversight and management of IT projects that support assigned business departments
? Recommends IT product solutions to business partners
III. Minimum Qualifications:
? Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline with specialized leadership training and/or demonstrated capability through previous experience and education to perform job responsibilities
? Five (5) years of experience in managing product/service delivery Managers, application development, project management or production support teams on a direct reporting basis
? Five (5) years of experience in software development and production support services preferred but not required
? Experience with industry standards in project management and development methodologies (PMBOK, MSF, SEI, Agile Methods, RUP, etc.)
? Regular attendance and punctuality
? Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
? Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
? Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
? Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
