Product Manager in Uniondale, NY

Nassau County based Tool Manufacturer seeks a Product/Merchandising Manager. The qualified individual will be responsible for putting together programs and plan-o-grams for hardware categories. This includes item selection and product placement with possible merchandiser creating, and suggesting MSRP. These programs will be for everyday sale and must be effectively communicated to the sales force. Another main responsibility will be aiding in the creating of sales promotions by selecting products and suggesting sale prices. The Product Manager will be responsible for the make up of hardware lines. This includes learning all the company's products and a good knowledge of our competitor&#146;s lines as well as customer&#146;s needs. The position will be responsible for suggesting which items to discontinue and what new items need to be added. This may include working with overseas vendors and design firms. Contact with overseas vendors, our sales force, and our customers is necessary. There is also the possibility of travel 1 to 2 times a year. <br/><br/>All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. Background in product management is also preferred.
