Description:
The main role of the Business Analyst – Front End Developer is to leverage the Data Warehouse architecture to create reporting and analyses that will support key business decision making. This involves interviewing business users to gather their information requirements, understanding the business impact and meaning of those requirements and then translating the requirements into reporting solutions. The reporting solutions will span
- Distributed/Push reporting via email of multiple reporting outputs
- On Demand/Pull reporting via SQL Server Reporting Services web capabilities
- Ad Hoc User-Created reporting via SQL Server Reporting Services using Report Builder and Model Designer
- Dynamic/Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) reporting via SQL Server Analysis Services and Microsoft Excel
- Data Mining via SQL Server Data Mining Models

Position Description:
1. COMMUNICATION
Business Community - Interview with business users to understand and document their departments, roles and responsibilities, performance/goal measurement and data, reporting and analysis needs. Accurately document the meeting results including follow-up with business users to validate findings.
Interdepartmental – Collaborate with Systems Engineers and Data Modelers to develop and support semantic layer (Report Builder, Model Designer) for front-end analysis. Develop and maintain Data Dictionary and training curriculums.
2. TECHNICAL EXECUTION
• Develop Semantic Reporting Layer for SQL Server Reporting Services
• Direct Systems Engineers in developing SQL Server Analysis Services Cubes
• Develop Reporting solutions that support Business Requirements
• Coordinate Training to facilitate End-User success with reporting deliverables
• Validate finished solutions against the requirements specification generated from business community interviews.

Technical Skill Requirements:
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, business requirements gathering and report development abilities. The candidate will have been responsible for and had broad exposure to a wide variety of projects and technologies and be able to develop, maintain and lead multiple project initiatives. The candidate will have coordinated and communicated with third party vendors and participated in the Business Intelligence community. Requires a bachelor's degree or comparable work experience with at least 5-10 years of experience in the field.
