OB DESCRIPTION "X Responsibilities will include: database environment in a multiple-site Windows 2003 clustered environment for many agencies including "X Responsibilities include: designing and configuring database architecture, including hardware and physical layout (RAID, Disk controller and Processor configurations) "X Managing the development process; performing monitoring and performance tuning; business development liaison, supporting Microsoft SQL tools and packages "X Handling ibest practicei database troubleshooting; corruption, backup and disaster recovery; providing ongoing database support in multiple-cluster production environment; managing distributed databases, and configuring client/server and web-based environments. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Professional/vendor certification(s) in database administration Vendor Certification (preferred): Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and two years of satisfactory full-time (not classroom based) experience in database administration planning, design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management; or 2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time (not classroom based) information technology experience of which at least 2 years must have been as described in i1i above; or 3. A masteri:s degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college may substitute for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have at least one year of satisfactory full-time (not classroom based) information technology experience as described in i1i above. Experience: a minimum of 4 years of experience as a Microsoft SQL/Oracle DBA Experience in the following areas is also desired: Microsoft SQL database development and administration, Microsoft SQL networking and Multi-site replication, Database security & auditing, database architecture, including hardware configuration, logical and physical database layouts, database management, monitoring multiple databases, database performance management and tuning, database fault analysis and resolution, database backup and disaster recovery procedures, database security, Administrating a Windows 2003 environment Experience supporting a high-availability production Microsoft SQL knowledge is preferred Experience with Veritas NetBackup, Windows 2003 Clustering/Networking and Veritas Cluster Server for Oracle is helpful.
