Responsibilities** Provide strong leadership and direction to Database Systems team with strong mentoring and technical skills.** Architect database solutions based on existing and emerging technologies and align their benefits with the business strategy and needs of the businesses.** Liaise with Equity, Clearing application and business clients to gather requirements, design and deploy standard systems which clearly differentiate between production, development, UAT, and DR.** Ensure timeliness of project implementation and issue resolution and adherence to committed service levels.** Create and present business proposals and business justifications to executive level management when required.** Interface with external vendors in troubleshooting complex, cross-platform issues.** Participate in budget review and forecasts.** Perform various management/ personnel tasks in a timely, professional manner.60% Oracle DBA work30% DBA Management10% Sybase and SQL Server
Experience: Position Requirements** Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related area preferred** 5+ years or equivalent IT and Management experience required.** Strong leadership, mentoring, team building and motivational skills.** Strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills required.** Previous personnel, project and resource management experience required.** Strong commitment to task completion supporting 24/7/365 operational requirements and ability to work varied hours when applicable.** Seven years+ Oracle experience** Expert knowledge Oracle RAC 10g in a SAN environment ** preferably on Solaris SPARC and Linux x86-64** Oracle Data Warehousing, Partitioning implementation, ETL scripting and experience with large databases (250 GB plus).** Solid experience in deploying Oracle Data Guard, Grid Control, RMAN, Streams, ASM, CRS** SQL Server DBA experience (1+ years) ** MCDBA certification a plus** Microsoft SQL Server Cluster experience a plus** Sybase ASE admin/ Rep Server admin certification a plus** Good understanding of Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems** Strong Database troubleshooting, optimization and recovery skills
