Basic Function:As part of M&T's Central Technology Division, the Senior Analyst will provide an oversight and support role for several applications in use at the Bank today for several different business units.Responsibilities:Assist in the transition and rearchitecture of applications used today in the Finance Division and Corporate Services Division from the business unit into Central Technology. Performs basic to complex systems analysis, design and programming. Plays a key role as an individual contributor on complex projects. Assists the client in addressing problems/ issues of any scope. Determine feasible solutions and makes recommendations. Must be able to direct junior resources and coordinate systems development tasks on small to medium scope efforts or on specific phases of larger projects. May project manage small to medium scope efforts. Coordinate development activities of Offshore resources where applicable. Participates with systems analysts, operations staff and IT staff, as appropriate, in overall system and integrated testing on small to medium scope efforts or on specific phases of larger projects. Prepares test data and executes detailed test plans. Performs any required debugging. Evaluates and understands complex interrelationships and effects among programs and interfacing applications. Uses available resources to develop clear and complete technical and functional specifications for small to medium scope efforts. Reviews documentation prepared by more junior programmers. Updates systems documentation. Prepares charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems. May assist in the supervision and preparation of logic flowcharts. Prepares assessments and task plans to include required tasks, estimated time frames and effort for assignments. Recommends new technology, policies or processes to benefit the organization and improve deficiencies. Provides consultation services to clients, technicians and Bank departments on basic to intricate functions of supported mainframe or distributed applications. This may include the review of system capabilities, operational procedures, forms, marketing materials or cost analysis. Performs other related duties as required, which may include participating in due diligence, cost/benefit analysis, vendor analysis or business study activities.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or 4 years in a programmer/ analyst environment. Object oriented Development- education or professional experience (MS SQL, Oracle). Project Management/Project Lead experience. Excellent communication skills. Thorough knowledge of the system development life cycle and application development alternatives. Ideal Qualifications:Mainframe experience- Cobol, JCL CA7. SAS. Knowledge of J2EE and .NET architectures. MS Visual Studio Suite of products. Crystal Reports (Business Objects). MS windows Server management experience. Ariba Spend Management experience.
