My client seeks a Desktop Support Specialist/Desktop Engineer. Supporting approx 300 users in multiple locations, primarily 150 Fixed Income and Equity traders in NY. <p>
The position is approx 40% frontline support (Tier 1-3) and 60% engineering and projects. <p>
<b>Design, build, and deploy packaged applications using Landesk, scripting of the user environment, and general break/fix. </b><p>
Perform troubleshooting of OS, AD, trading, productivity, and custom apps. <br>Maintain and administer enterprise applications for financial reporting, compliance, trade processing, and collaboration.<p>

Experience: There is extensive interaction with users, excellent written and verbal communication skills are absolutely essential. <br>
Trading and market data application experience (Bloomberg, Reuters). <br><b>
Experience with a desktop management system (Landesk, MS SMS, Altiris, Zen). </b><br>
Experience with IPC turrets or similar telecom experience a plus. <br>Experience with Sharepoint, Cognos, vmware all a plus. <br>
Experience with scripting/programming languages a big plus. <br>
ITIL or other IT process certification a plus. <br>
Must be flexible on hours and shifts and occasional weekend work.<p>
