The candidate will partner with both IT application development and business-user client communities to gather and analyze functional reporting requirements. They will become a subject matter expert in the data, and data models of the business area. Using strong analytical skills, they will contribute to the database design. They will design and develop Business Objects universes and reports to support their client area--s business objectives. These objectives will include real-time operational reporting, analytical reporting, and dashboarding. The candidate will create and implement test plans. In addition, they must be able to troubleshoot discrepancies in reports to determine the appropriate resolution. Candidate will also perform maintenance and production support as part of their day-to-day responsibilities.
Experience: * REQUIREMENTS<br>
* Bachelor--s Degree<br>
* 3-4 years of Business Objects design and development of Universes and Reports. Firm understanding of Business Objects XI and its most current features.<br>
* Significant experience gathering requirements and analyzing data<br>
* 3-5 years of SQL writing experience; can write complex SQL as warranted by a project<br>
* Building database views and SQL performance tuning as needed<br>
* Strong knowledge and adherence of development methodologies, standards and best practice;<br>
* Ability to manage workload and work effectively with little supervision<br>
* Ability to work in conjunction with others, including providing support<br>
* Solid ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.<br>
* Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.<br>
* Application development experience is a plus<br>
* Knowledge of Crystal Reports, Hyperion and/or Actuate is a plus<br>
