Utility Shared Services, an Energy East Company, is looking for a Manager - Applications for its Rochester location.JOB SUMMARY:In this role, you will be responsible for the development and support of applications systems/programs, managing technical resources and facilitating interactions with business areas/resources. You will support feasibility studies, systems design, and system implementation required to support any area of the Company. MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads and participates in the development, maintenance, integration, and enhancement of software applications within challenging deadlines and in a high quality manner. Manages application projects within budget and on schedule. Manages the successful daily operation of application systems in accordance with established standards and procedures. Works with specific business areas to manage expectations, facilitates resolution of issues, and prioritizes work. Manages the development of innovative business solutions and alternatives for complex problems resulting in efficient, economical business processes. Assists in developing systems design and programming standards as required. Manages the cost, schedule and technical performance of all system development activities within a set area.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Skills/Abilities: Able to manage multiple priorities, challenging and rigid deadlines and technologies. Able to work with management team counterparts to meet priorities and resolve issues.Minimum of five years of practical technical support experience in a medium to large enterprise computing environment. Experience/Training: At least 7 years of IT experience. At least 3 years of leadership experience (Management/supervisory, project management, etc) General knowledge of web based and client/server development tools (that may include .Net, ASP, VB, C++, C#) as well as relational data base technologyEducation and/or Experience Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field desired or equivalent experience.
