A Long Island based institutional broker / dealer is seeking a programmer to join our software development department to aide in the design and development of in-house software applications. This is an exciting hands on opportunity for a programmer to enhance our existing software while actively participating in the development of new projects. Candidates must have experience in large scale software engineering in addition to having extensive database programming experience using products such as ADO.NET and SQL Server. Java experience a plus.
Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related degree
* Object-Oriented Programming experience on a Windows platform
* Visual Basic.NET, ADO.NET, and firm understanding of a relational database, preferably SQL Server
* Ability to create technical documentation based on business requirements
* Strong judgment, team oriented, and great communication skills.
* Ambition to learn new technologies
