Finance ManagerNew York, NYFull Time/PermanentResponsibilities Position supports the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis Group overhead expense management and variance analytics Assist VP, Finance and Director of Finance with presentations and special projects for Client Professional division and Tax & Accounting Executive Committee Develop financial models as needed for Tax and Accounting business unitsMetrics analyses for leading and lagging indicators of the Tax & Accounting business unit including: New sales, retention and transactional revenues Detail review and analysis by domain and productCost analyses detailing variances to Plan and Prior Year FTE by region (including offshore) and Business Unit hires, attrition Capital analysis including: Monthly forecasting. Plan and Prior Year Evaluation of project tracking vs. Plan D&A forecasting Project approval tracking Monitor capitalization of laborWork directly with the Business Units to obtain relevant information regarding metrics and cash flow. Communicate business unit financial performance and forecast to VP, Finance and SVP, FinanceProvide financial reports from SAP BEX and Cognos systems; assist in coordination related to maintenance of Cognos planning systems/tools Other duties as required by Director, Financial Planning & Analysis and VP, Finance Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, business management, or economics MBA preferred 8 - 10 years of prior work experience in financial analysis or budgeting and forecasting Strong financial and analytical skills Strong written, quantitative and verbal communication skills Ability to effectively communicate financial information to business unit finance staff as well as senior managementLarge company experience and/or publishing experience a plus. Hands-on and detail oriented. Strong work ethic and the ability to interact well with people at various levels within the organization. Must be a team player with initiative and demonstrated ability to work in a challenging work environment. Excellent computer skills with financial systems; extensive experience with and knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
