SQL Server 2005 DBAMelville, NYApply NOW at (see below) or call Milly Rivera at .The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for propagating database (DML/DDL) changes to our production environment. Most of which are performed 2-3 days a week during the off-hours. The SQL Server DBA will work with the server/apps team in validating the databases during monthly infrastructure maintenance and unexpected server outages. Will design, setup, install and implement databases; perform routine data maintenance (re-indexing, integrity checks, database shrinking, log file monitoring); performance tuning (indexing, compression drive distribution, load balancing, replication); document and implement SQL server disaster recovery models. The environment is mostly SQL Server 2000 transitioning to SQL Server 2005. The DBA will be responsible for assisting with the SQL Server upgrades from 2000 to2005 to 2008. It's important that this candidate have strong communication and documentation skills. Requirements: Production Support DBA for SQL 2005 Experience installing, configuring and supporting SQL Server databases is required. Database and server security administration. Experience with SQL-Server 2005. DTS/SSIS knowledge is a requirement. Experience running SQL Traces. Working knowledge of database performance tuning and configuration tools in MS SQL Server Automate Backup, Restore, jobs, alerts and tuning processes on SQL Server 2000/05 a plus. Experience with Microsoft clustering and replication is a plus. PeopleSoft Administration is a plus. Exposure to SQL Server 2008 is a plus. Strong documentation/diagram skills a plus Oracle DBA experience is a plus.
