Job Title: Director, Program Management – Service Delivery Lead (SDL) Job Summary The Director, Program Management – SDL is one of the senior most delivery roles within Sapient blending delivery, operations, people management and growth, and business development. The Service Delivery Lead should bring a unique blend of experience and expertise encompassing exceptional project/ program and people management skills coupled with experience of contributing to sales processes. This person will provide vision and leadership to teams across a portfolio of clients. The Director will possess strong knowledge of Multi-channel commerce and have Project Managed large scale Ecommerce initiatives. They will be familiar with technologies such as ATG, Websphere Commerce and Demandware. The Director will work with the Business lead to establish goals and priorities and will work with Client Executives to expand the portfolio. The SDL will drive the process improvement mentality across the portfolio and inspire excellence in teams. As a critical part of the Sapient organization the Director, Program Management – Service Delivery Lead will visibly participate in the growth of the organization. Key Responsibilities include: Partner with the Client Executive to expand the portfolio Design the strategy for the portfolio and execute successfully against that strategy Owns effort and cost estimation, and solution structuring during the sales life cycle Focus on staffing, project setup, scope management, risk management, quality, client management Contributing towards improving Sapient’s delivery capability Meet specific metrics around margin, leakage, erosion and utilization Drive compliance on “institutionalized” processes Coaching & mentoring of team members Reviews other’s estimates and points out holes. Assesses how project risks will impact estimates Works with the client and delivery teams and takes on a “hands-on” approach to identify and suggest approaches to resolve any Delivery issues as they arise. Proactively suggests tools, methodologies and best practices to prevent such issues. Communicates difficult scenarios to the client Participates in extending knowledge of their area of specialization within Sapient. Guides a team in using their area of expertise. Reviews implementation models and recommends pros/cons of different approaches. Participates in accumulating and disseminating specialty Best Practices Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. 12 plus years of experience in project/program delivery 5 plus years of experience in a consulting environment Extensive experience managing large and complex Ecommerce initiatives and a solid understanding of multi-channel commerce Operational experience including P&L management Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage client accounts and multi-track Sapient teams Experience in creating engagement structuring, detailed scope and estimation Ability to drive complex estimates that take one or more projects into account and to effectively communicate risks and dependencies to clients Ability to manage margin and cost erosion on projects/programs Effectively communicate with clients regarding delivery Experience in proposal development and being part of successful sales pursuits Experience in managing distributed and highly matrixed teams Experience in running teams of 50+ people Proven mentoring and coaching abilities to ensure effective growth plans of members of Sapient teams; Ability to understand critical issues and bring appropriate resolution to cross-industry, complex issues; Frequent overnight travel may be required About Sapient Sapient, a global services firm, helps clients compete, evolve and grow in an increasingly complex marketplace.
