Our client, a leading vendor of IT Infrastructure and Applications solutions, is seeking an Senior Field Implementation Engineer. The ideal candidate will have worked for a vendor implementing contact center/ call centers. This position is responsible for first time implementation of our client's equipment and solutions at a customer site. Candidates must be willing to travel both within the region and nationally (about 50% travel at peak) Verify customer site prerequisites, rehearse implementation in a Lab environment, and subsequently install the system at a client site while documenting the procedure. Implementation includes setting up the hardware, connecting the equipment to the customer's network, configuring the customer's telephony environment, and loading the necessary software on the equipment. During each phase the Implementation Engineer is expected to manage the customer relationship and expectations, communicate effectively, and troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Education · BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical degree preferred. · Desired certifications include: A+, Networking +, MCSE, CCNA Essential Experience: · Real world experience in IP networking covering LAN and WAN hardware (routers, firewalls etc) configuration, wireless, RTP, TCP/IP, UDP.. · 3 years experience configuring and maintaining complex switched and routed networks. · Thorough understanding of Windows Operation Systems – especially Windows Server 2003, including installation, troubleshooting and management. Experience in the following fields are not required but are a plus · Knowledge of SQL server (installation, configuration and management) · Storage solutions (DAS, NAS, SAN) · Active Directory configuration and management · Vista, Windows Server 2008 SKILLS: · Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. · Ability to quickly learn to use new software tools. · Effective verbal and written communications skills. · Team player - ability to work well in a close team environment. · Strong customer service orientation. · Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with constant changes and growth. · Must be comfortable with travel, sometimes on short notice, and occasional after-hours support requirements.
