Essential Job Functions
Maintains local/wide area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, and cabling in a 7x24 environment. Must be available for flexible work schedule and on-call with a pager.

Primary Responsibilities
. Pro-actively monitor UNIX and Windows servers for operational issues/problems and resolve as necessary
. Maintain a network of UNIX, Windows and Macintosh systems
. Administer and integrate the systems for our offices in New York, London and Moscow
. Provide desktop support for all Windows and Macintosh machines, including users in remote offices
. Responsible for pro-actively monitoring servers/desktops for operational issues/problems and resolve as necessary
. Troubleshoot and resolve network problems to ensure minimal disruption of critical applications
. Develop and communicate standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers, and data
. Coordinate with vendors for installation of router, bridges, concentrators, switches, etc;
. Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support and security
. Responsible for network design and security, firewall design and backup and recovery procedures
. Collect and analyze network and memory utilization.
. Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery procedures
. Communicate with other departments in reporting and resolving software, hardware, and operational issues
. Announce new hardware and software upgrades/downgrades; install and test software upgrades.
. Responsible for building servers and desktops in compliance with best practices
. Maintain network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, WAPs and cabling
. Project related work and documentation
. License management and auditing of installed desktop software
Experience: Job Requirements . Superior customer service skills . 3-5 years of Windows Server administration experience . 1-3 years of Unix administration experience . 3-5 years experience Macintosh support . Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange . University degree in a related field (B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering) or a combination of related experience and education . Solid understanding and experience with Windows 2003/XP and MAC OS X . Proven experience in administering a medium sized network . The ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, client-services environment . Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and oral . Works well with minimal supervision .
