I. Summary of Position
Provides technical leadership to Technology Services and Household International operating units through special and major projects. Provides team leadership as required.
II. Principal Accountabilities
1. Provide technical leadership and consultation to Technology Services and assigned business units. Maintain expert knowledge in system specialty or multiple systems.
2. Manage large and critical projects (such as the building of a call center) related to the Distributed Systems Services area to assure objectives are met on time and within budget. Evaluate performance of project teams assigned and report performance upon project completion to management.
3. Provide technical leadership and consultation to project team members as directed by the project manager. Initiate and conduct feasibility studies of new and modified operational procedures for large systems. Prepare cost benefit analysis and functional detail specifications. Provide direct guidance in planning, designing, programming, documentation and implementation of the systems. Perform reviews of new and existing systems to ensure operational integrity and accomplishment of stated objectives.
4. Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.
5. Complete other related duties as assigned, support the Company’s Diversity programs Experience: III. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
This position requires an individual with:
* A Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience with a major or minor in Information Technology, industry certifications.
* A minimum of seven years specialized experience in computer, telephony, network systems engineering, call center local area networking, wide area networking, server and desktop technologies including a minimum of three years experience in project management.
* Extensive and specialized technical knowledge in computer, telephony and network systems and a demonstrated ability to analyze specifications and operating documentation.
