1. Provide technical leadership of a communications area.
2. Provide leadership in setting strategic architectural and software plans. Manage large and multiple projects to assure objectives are met on time and within budget. Evaluate performance of project team and project leaders and report performance upon project completion to management.
3. Provide technical leadership and consultation to project teams.
4. Provide consultation and assistance to Technology Services organizations in the preparation of project plans, as assigned.
5. Evaluate and recommend new hardware, communication systems, and program packages; evaluate and justify large scale systems and software.
6. Maintain and apply knowledge of leading edge technology to reach business goals.
7. Ensure compliance monitoring is in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards.
8. Complete other related duties as assigned, support the Company’s Diversity programs. Experience: This position requires an individual with:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Business or related field supplemented by technical coursework and a minimum of ten years telecommunications experience.
Minimum of five years in project management highly desirable.
Recognition as an expert, either nationally or regionally, in communication systems engineering; specialized experience including extensive knowledge of communications systems and data processing hardware capabilities in a communication or server infrastructure environment; demonstrated ability to analyze specifications and operating documentation; and demonstrated ability to lead and implement technology.
