Pierce Technology Corporation is an established professional services company with a focus on providing information technology services to Fortune 500 companies in the NY/NJ/PA area, on both a consulting and permanent basis. Pierce has an immediate opening with a large financial corporation in New York City. The client is looking for a candidate to fill their systems administration position within the Windows server support team. A candidate for this position is expected to be able to build servers in accordance with the clients' standard build and deployment practices. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, building new servers, performing application and OS upgrades to servers. The candidate will also be responsible for diagnosing issues with applications running on the server, responding to problem tickets for issues reported by clients, writing formal postmortems for production problems, providing feedback to architecture and development teams and providing coverage at our various server locations.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Candidate should have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 and related technologies (IIS, SQL, AD, TCP/IP). Additional knowledge in Windows server related products such as Cisco CNR, File and Print servers, SNA/HIS, VMWare and blade technology is also required. Experience with Microsoft clustering is essential. The candidate should possess the technical skills to perform problem determination, root cause analysis and develop solutions to restore production availability. Knowledge of debugging tools such as NetMon and Perfmon is a plus. Scripting ability is also a plus.
