Basic Function:
As part of M&T's Technology Infrastructure the Analyst would perform the analysis, design, programming and implementation on systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems.

Responsibilities:
Administration of network monitoring/trending applications.
Maintains, develops, and modifies programs according to detailed specifications
Automating manual or inefficient processes using a programming language; such as Perl
Writing and editing software that interact with databases (MySQL, RRDTool)
Includes the installation, setup and administration of UNIX/Linux servers and applies conversions and enhancements to business systems
On call for off shift concerns as necessary or on call support for off-hour production issues

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a Computer Science study or 6+ years experience in a similar IT environment
Proficient programming skills (Perl, Shell Scripting, PHP)
Proficient with UNIX/Linux server administration
Ability to take manual or inefficient processes and automate them through programming
Strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Ideal Qualifications:
Demonstrates a high aptitude for complex problem analysis and resolution
Familiar with relational databases and relational database design
Familiar with LAN/WAN networking
Basic knowledge of Cisco IOS, routers and switches
Bank operations and proven project management experience is a plus
Prior operational experience in a support position and/or in a position requiring a high level of technical customer service
Strong organizational abilities and be capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a professional customer service attitude
