Job Responsibilities : Responsibilities include:
managing/ directing application engineering activities for one or multiple projects interfacing with representatives of business, software vendors and technical staff on requirements and delivery of solutions enforcing standardized software development practices within the Application Engineering team meeting project schedule targets by delivering high quality systems on time and within budget communication with management about status/ direction of projects coordination and prioritization of all project and system change requests during the life of a given project Required Qualifications : Education: BS/ BA Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Accounting or related field Years Work Experience: 10+ Years Technical Skills: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, extensive background in systems analysis and design, excellent problem-solving skills, multiple database technologies (eg. Oracle, SQL, mainframe IDMS, VSAM, etc.), multiple programming languages; in-depth understanding and experience in planning, managing, directing, administering full project and system life cycle activities Non-Technical Skills: 5+ years experience managing system development teams and projects related to many, diverse business areas in the media industry; experience working with software vendor system solutions; ability to plan ahead and forecast resource usage; experience in creating and adhering to project schedules for large scale projects; ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written communication) with clients, vendors, technical staff and management; decision-making capabilities, ability to quickly assess impact of a particular technical situation -- and also of a particular business situation -- and react or recommend decisions, accordingly Desired Qualifications : Education: MS/ MA in Computer Science, MIS or a related field Years Work Experience: 10+ Years Technical Skills: Ability to impart technical guidance to staff Non-Technical Skills: Prior experience at ABC or within Disney or in a large, corporate sytems environment with varied application system experience; prior experience with vendor software systems; extensive (10+ years) experience in gathering system requirements, planning and developing and implementing cost-effective and technologically creative software system solutions, managing a team of professionals and directing all phases of the software solution project life cycle Business Overview : Location: New York, NY Req ID: 80234 To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
