.net Developer - Equity Trading in New York, NY

Genesis10 currently has a need for an Application/.net Developer to work on a long term assignment in New York City. Duties and responsibilities include: - Responsible for working in an application development team that provides high quality software tools for Equity Trading technologies. - Develop software that will interact with the Charles River Trading System vendor software. These may include software tools to provide PMs with the ability load orders into the Charles River system. - Develop and maintain SQL code and stored procedures used by the Equity Investments group. - Develop scheduled processes and support and maintain these processes to ensure information is available to the end users in a timely manner. This includes overnight processing. - Develop .NET software for the Equity Trading team. This includes ASP.NET, C#.NET, and VB.NET. - Candidate will be involved in longer term project implementation in addition to smaller project tasks. - Candidate is expected to build a strong rapport with the trading desk, portfolio managers, and operations personnel. - Candidate will develop a familiarity with the database structures, content and processing cycles to serve as an expert in Charles River IMS system maintenance requirements. - Candidate will need to be able to work independently and as part of an overall Equity Technology Team. - Candidate must be flexible and have strong communication skills to facilitate prompt problem resolution. Experience: Required skills and experience: - BS Degree in Computer Science or similar curriculum. - 5+ years of application development experience. - Strong SQL experience required. At least 2 years relational database experience. Microsoft SQL Server experience preferred but not required. - At least 2 years working with Microsoft Development tools, VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#.NET, Source Safe. - Software development experience for a firm in the Financial Services industry is not required but is strong plus. - Experience supporting job processing streams and scheduling environment is a plus. - Experience with Crystal Reports is a plus. - Experience developing financial applications and understanding financial concepts while not required is a strong plus. - Experience supporting and developing applications for Equity investment groups specifically trading systems, trade order entry systems, decision support portfolio management systems, and/or quantitative equity software is a strong plus. - Investment Management background is a strong plus. - Knowledge of Investment Management Compliance rules and experience developing software to enforce these rules is a strong plus. - Experience with multi-currency International Equity trading applications is a strong plus.
