Database Architect (SQL Server)

Primary responsibilities will include, Application DB design, Performance tuning and Production support.
You must have experience with high availability databases (30+ gig DB, 500+ tables)
Must have some SQL 2005 experience
This is not an administrator position. Prior admin experience is good. Must be an architect.
The work location can be either of our offices in NY, Columbus (OH), Austin (TX).

. 24x7 Availability
. Prior experience with change management related to database objects.
. Strong T-SQL skills, SQL Server objects, Ability to write scripts to automate administrative functions and be able to work with application developers on database design.
. Candidate must be able to answer any questions from Development regarding SQL Server.
. Candidate must be familiar with backup strategies. Must have disaster recovery experience.
. SQL Server installation experience.
. Candidate must be a forward-looking senior DBA type. Applying patches and long-term maintenance are two of the forward-looking type activities that Candidate will be expected to perform.
. Capacity planning experience - the ability to determine future requirements and effectively manage existing resources - is a must-have.
. Candidate must know how to move entire databases along with associated jobs and DTS packages from one SQL Server to another.
. Expert level DTS knowledge.
. Experience with performance monitoring and tuning.
. SQL Server Distributed Query Architecture
. SQL Server replication and log shipping.
. SQL Server fail-over clustering.
. Microsoft Cluster Service
. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure is required.
