Senior Systems Administrator, Information TechnologyFor a Leading Private University based in NYC this full time employment opportunity offers a competitive base salary along with a great benefits package.Solaris (8,9,10) and Linux (Red Hat Enterprise - RHEL 3,4,5), experienced with managing root keys, passwords, encryption, SSL (Secure Socket Layer), LDAP (Integration of Linux/Unix with Active Directory - Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), BigIP, Sun IDM. Apple (MAC) Candidates need to be strong in one or more of these areas -*** EMC storage, Load balancing, Key chain management, High performance computing cluster, Networker backup, Sun Solaris, etc. ***. Hardware Load Balancing. SAN/NAS Storage. Veritas / Solstice Disksuite. Legato Networker. High Performance Compute Clusters/Life Science ComputingResponsibilities include Unix (Linux, Solaris) server installation and administration, and higher level applications installation/maintenance, patching and hardening per security policies, and supportive response in departments and laboratories as well as core infrastructure support to provide high availability, including automated systems monitoring and reporting. Will be involved with deployment and support of high performance filesystems, RAIDs, and other storage models (SAN/NAS), and load balancing and other failover services such as clustering. Will also work in support of cluster computing, some desktop (Mac/PC) Unix integration, and some Windows services, and significant involvement with backup services (tape, disk-to-disk). Requirements:Bachelor's degree and educational emphasis in information technology or computer science/engineering preferred. Must have a minimum of seven years of solid experience in areas sought including Unix (multiple platforms/dialects a plus), Shell programming (and sed, Perl), and thorough knowledge of standard Unix utilities. High level language programming skills (like C), working experience with EMC Clarion and NAS, and knowledge of Linux and Linux clusters, as well as cluster software like Sun Cluster or Veritas Cluster Server strongly preferred. Legato Networker experience necessary. Knowledge of (commercial) Sendmail based e-mail along with remote systems management strongly preferred. Understanding of Windows server provisioning and administration, working experience with Active Directory, and LDAP necessary. Sun IDM/EXPRESS knowledge a plus.
