Responsibilities: Supervises the activities of the Desktop PC Analysts and PC Technicians. Coordinates activities of the unit to meet established budgets and deadlines. Resolves complex problems of users of services. Manages the deployment, maintenance, support and upgrade of desktop operating systems, desktop PC, associated hardware, software, and distributed printers. Plans and directs all aspects of desktop hardware engineering activities and associated operating system support services. Explores the future desktop operating systems need of the organization and provides technical leadership to the team and department. Ensures all projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. Reviews and approves necessary testing and QA procedures. Ensures confidentiality of patient information by staff members. Requirements: Bachelor degree in computer science(or related technical field) preferred, OR 4 years of experience in a Data Processing or Information Systems & Services position. 3-5 years of progressively forward moving system administration experience in a multi-disciplined, complex enterprise-computing environment. Experience installing/deploying, maintaining, and supporting personal computer operating systems, Patch Management, and electronic deployment. (Using tools such as Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager or Windows Server Update Services Experience inter-operating with and troubleshooting various logical and associated physical layer networking modalities and components. Experience working with various networking protocols (TPC/IP, IPX, etc.), design system and software deployment strategies. Experience configuring and installing Microsoft operating systems, as well as, Microsoft applications and other desktop associated applications. Knowledge at the expert level of current techniques and hardware capabilities of large-scale enterprise computing environments Advanced knowledge of desktop computing technology, including Mac, Windows, PDA’s, OS, and hardware and software applications. Ability to manage, mentor and develop staff Ability to juggle multiple and competing responsibilities. Basic dexterity skills, frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75lbs, vision abilities required; close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
