Client has expanded the web infrastructure and its use of J2EE technology. Several J2EE initiatives have begun and current expertise in J2EE technologies is necessary to install, migrate, and support a variety of
Java applications. Linux and AIX operating systems are the future platform for the web server environment, the number of servers has doubled in the last two years. In addition to ongoing maintenance and support of the enterprise environment the following upgrades and activities need to be undertaken during the next twenty-four months.
* Web-App Applications Migration for J2EE
* War File Conversion for J2EE
* Intranet Applications and OMRMENU Migration from Tru64 to Linux Platform
* Red Hat Linux Upgrades
* Implement VMWare Virtualization Environment for Linux Platform
Experience: Required skills
Minimum of four (4) years of experience installing, configuring, and administrating a large complex Unix environment. At least one year of that experience must be within the last 24 months.
Minimum of four (4) years experience with Korn shell and scripted systems utilities
Minimum of four (4) years experience administering web servers.
Minimum of four (4) years experience programming and developing Java J2EE applications
NO travel
DESIRABLE Experience
1. Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading Red Hat/Linux systems
2. Experience installing, configuring, and administering Sun Java System web server.
3. Experience with Java application development including experience with JDBC, session beans, and session persistence.
4. Experience installing, configuring, and administering Apache or Tomcat, JBoss, Web Logic, or WebSphere application servers.
5. Experience installing, configuring, and administrating HP/Tru64 systems.
6. Experience installing, configuring, and administrating IBM/AIX Unix systems.
7. Experience administering enterprise storage in SAN environment.
8. Experience installing, configuring, and administering UNIX utilities such as Samba, SSH, SUDO.
9. Experience with system performance monitoring and analysis
10. Experience administering with enterprise backup solutions, such as, "Tivoli Storage Manager or Veritas NetBackup"
11. Experience with UNIX related backup applications, such as, "Ignite, VDump, Tar"
12. Experience working on a project team in a large, complex, data processing environment
