Perform data analysis to support decisions on developing new product features or enhancing existing features. Write backend code for new product features or to enhance existing features. Ensure core technology platform is running smoothly and act as first line of defense if problems arise Personal Skills: . Self-managed, proactive, problem solving work style and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Able to evaluate and learn new technologies, applications and skills quicklyEngineering Skills: . 7+ years experience applying your engineering skills to business needs. Experience in all phases of product development life cycle, including requirements definitions, development, testing procedures, product release and support. Strong Java and SQL skills (5+ years each). Strong knowledge of Object Oriented analysis and design concepts. Strong data analysis skills. Significant background in the following: application servers, web servers and distributed or load balanced systems. Good database understanding (Oracle preferred). Schema design and performance tuning a plus. Shell scripting a plus. Experience with tools such as: CVS (version control), Eclipse. Excellent verbal and written communication skillsOther Requirements: . Education: BS, MS or PhD in computer science, information systems engineering or other strongly related field (or equivalent experience). A huge plus will be familiarity with data mining; Contextual Advertising; online marketing campaigns, promotions, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
