AT-Tech staffing is part of the Howroyd Group of companies, which is the largest privately held staffing organization in the United States. Our client(very large publishing Co.) has an immediate need for a JAVA/RoR developer. Excellent opportunity for the right candidate.
The Developer must posses no less than two years
experience with Java and Ruby
Responsible for:Developing and integrating software for public (internet) and private (intranet) World Wide Web based applications, as well as back-end information systems. Programming, documentation, testing, controlled release and support of software consisting of application server applications, daemons, databases, CGI applications and middleware.
Key Tasks:
Programming for software projects, including prototyping, build, and test scripts on new projects, as well as defect repair on currently deployed systems.
Database programming, including SQL queries, schema, table and view creation.
Unit testing of all code artifacts
Documentation of all work artifacts, including code comments, user manuals, and deployment notes
Continuous integration of code into source code control system
Application level support on all website activity. (Includes support of all software related to delivering customer accessible services.)
Professional and Personal Requirements
Skills: Strong procedural and/or object oriented programming experience. Thorough knowledge of website construction and/or client-server application development in high level languages. Familiar with database design especially client/server SQL and administration of Microsoft SQL, Sybase, or Oracle. Familiar with software engineering concepts, including source code control, build systems, and software deployment.
Experience: Experience with HTML, CGI and website construction or extensive experience in GUI design and application development. Minimum of 1 year professional programming experience.
Personal attributes: Excellent written and verbal communication, able to work independently.
