BASIC FUNCTION:Distributed Support Systems (DSS) group provides reporting and technical support to all of Finance. This group manages the M&T budgeting and forecasting system, updates the Finance Intranet site, provides MS Office Suite support and maintains several ad-hoc reporting systems.
This position requires an organized individual with strong technical and problem solving skills. The ability to clearly communicate and interact with all levels of personnel including end users, technical staff and management. The incumbent will work on developing business intelligence solutions for internal clients using vendor-based systems, along with creating models using the advanced MS Office product suite.
This individual will assist the department manager in gathering, developing and managing the requirements for the new Finance systems, and liaise closely with the Business stakeholders and the Information Technology department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and produce complex departmental reports and spreadsheets to support business intelligence related requests using MS Office Suite and server-based systems.Participate in new system implementations by defining business requirements and processes. Develop test strategies and test cases, perform testing, ensure applications meet their customer requirements, validate the quality assurance process and define user procedures and workflows.Perform basic and ad hoc analysis to support business decisions. Facilitate training, create and maintain training manuals and system documentation. Perform other related assignments as requested by management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field (i.e. MIS, Business, Finance or Accounting) or the equivalent in work experience3 years of related experience requiredProficient in use of MS Office 2007 SuiteStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to create complex, specialized reporting requests using PC and client server applicationsAbility to work independently and function as a member of a project team; work under tight time constraints with minimal supervision.Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary for tracking status of multiple projects and requests.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:Strong MS Excel & Access experience including advanced Macro knowledge and VBA Programming.Demonstrated project management and analytical skills.Knowledge of M&T Intranet System, EAS, GL, Hyperion and Commercial Loan systems will be a plus.Experience in gathering business requirements, business process flows and creating system test plans.Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts would be highly desirable.
