DescriptionOur client, a major global financial services provider engaged in retail and commercial banking, is seeking a Senior Java Developer- Credit. Type of position: Permanent Location: New York. NY The Credit Technology group is looking for a Senior Java developer with strong financial industry experience in designing and developing electronic trading platforms and external connectivity to financial industry clients and ECNs using proprietary protocols and industry standard protocols like FIX and ION. The primary focus of this position will be part of the development of the Credit electronic trading platform in line with the business strategic and be responsible for delivering client and broker E-commerce services for various credit products. This role involves working closely with the global development team to facilitate electronic trading across various platforms and to deliver projects in a timely fashion. The candidate should possess: Requires strong application development and design experience using Java, J2EE and messaging software's Requires experience in implementation of high volume/performance and low latencies multi-threaded critical trading systems Excellent financial industry connectivity knowledge using various protocols with particular working experience in ION Experience working in distributed development teams with ability to work closely with local and global teams (US, London & Singapore) Self starter, highly motivated individual, team player who can take a problem from initial stages through tactical and strategic solutions with minimal guidance (conceptual thinker) High degree of technical knowledge paired with a good sense of practicality Have Good verbal and written communication skills Person Requirements Minimum Job Requirements: Must be Proficient in the entire software development life cycle and be able to regularly play multiple roles within a project as needed Ability to handle multiple projects and with strong time management and prioritizing skills Requires experience developing High frequency Real Time trading applications, preferably within an Electronic Trading environment Must be able to effectively collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to define business problems, analyze existing systems and propose, define, and execute appropriate solutions Core Java, FIX, J2EE development and design experience in the financial industry Experience in ION or any other vendor provided connectivity software (must have) Experience in design and development of high frequency & high volume eTrading application Experience in messaging protocols especially TibcoRV, MQ Series or JMS Knowledge of Perl or any other Scripting knowledge would be a definite plus Thorough understanding of electronic connectivity to brokers, clients and ECNs Strong track record developing high performance multi-threaded server components Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering
