Duration: 6 months Software developer required. This is an end-to-end development role in a fast paced Front Office environment. Strong Java skills are essential, as is a pragmatic attitude and ability to work directly with a demanding user group. The role is based in New York and will suit a pragmatic, self starter who has a track record of delivering quality front office trading applications. The person will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of applications, from design and development through to testing, deployment and operation. The person must be comfortable communicating directly with a diverse group of demanding stakeholders that include traders, business sponsors and technology management, whilst working in a geographically distributed team. REQUIRED SKILLS: - Team player, able and enthusiastic in communication problems and ideas - Solid understanding of programming fundamentals: algorithm, data-structures - Demonstrable track record of developing in Java and of OO design patterns - Knowledge of relational databases and SQL - Understanding of multi-threaded programming - Comfortable with Agile style development practices - End to End Ownership - demonstrable record of owning a solution from requirements analysis through deployment to initial support - Outstanding interpersonal skills - ability to interact and progress projects with people at all levels in multiple locations PREFERRED SKILLS: - Experience of working within a Front Office project - Java Client AND server-side development experience - Eclipse RCP - Experience working with Derivative Products, with a strong preference for Equity Derivatives Key Words: Java; OOD; SQL
