I. Summary of Position



Provides centralized computer security technical consulting services for all centralized and distributed computer systems, products, and technologies, as well as network data security.



II. Principal Accountabilities



1. Provide technical support for all centralized and distributed security products and applications with security interfaces. Provide technical support for centralized and distributed security systems as required based on approved project plans. Provide technical directions and support for the information security administration staff.



2. Lead the resolution of information security related incidents and problems.



3. Develop and automate the distribution of computer security audit reports.



4. Provide Information Security Analysts with technical support.



5. Provide internal computer security consulting support for centralized and distributed computer systems. Identify information security issues and recommend solutions. Review and update IS Policies and Standards on a regular basis.



6. Prepare security documentation and test data to ensure security interfaces are installed according to specifications. Provide security-consulting services to the business unit as necessary, to include security reviews of Technology Service Providers.



7. Perform application and infrastructure security testing requiring specialized security skills.



8. Provide security-consulting services to other managers.



9. Provide after hour and weekend support as required.



10. Remain current on technical developments affecting information security and advises department management.



11. Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.



12. Complete other related duties as assigned, support the Company's Diversity programs Experience: This position requires an individual with:

-A Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience in business, computer science or related field and five to seven years progressive experience in a data processing position including a minimum of four years experience working with diverse security products

-Above average knowledge of various mainframe and distributed processing platforms (i.e., OS/390, PCs, HP, SUN, Novell, AIX, RS/6000, Dial-up security products, etc.)

-Strong written and verbal communication skills; and demonstrated knowledge of project management and problem solving skills.
