Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Siebel Administrator JobDescriptionProvides ongoing Siebel application support and maintenance of the Siebelproduction environment, including application monitoring, issueresolution, fail-over and fail-back testing, and working with theappropriate technical support staff (internal and vendor). Providessupport as needed for the Siebel development, test, and conversionenvironments. Assists in release and migration planning. Plays a role inthe creation of new technical Siebel environments and establishingappropriate standards and strategies for these environments. Participatesin application release process. Runs data imports in conjunction with thedata cleansing team. Manages Siebel servers monitoring the logs andstatistics reports, updating the server software as appropriate, providingbackup and disaster recovery, and troubleshooting hardware and softwareproblems in order to provide a reliable Siebel environment for end users.Defines mobile users and initializes mobile user local databases.Interacts with IT support, LAN/WAN engineers, and other staff to providesecond and third level support for the Siebel network. Troubleshootsarchitecture problems as needed. Protects the overall security of theSiebel network through the administration of database access controllists, LDAP authentication and/or server security measures. Consults withSiebel developers on issues related to the impact of development on thecorporate Siebel infrastructure. QualificationsJob RequirementsBachelor''s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalentcombination of education and experience, plus two years minimum of Siebeladministration experience. Completion of Siebel Core Consultant trainingand Siebel 7 certification preferred. Experience in Siebel ApplicationAdministration, Siebel 7.7x, and SQL Server database and Analytics.Experience migrating data between databases and administering mobile weband dedicated clients. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data andcommunicate complex technical analysis to technical and non-technicalaudiences. Strong technical skills with the ability to coordinate, manage,and ensure the success of Siebel deployments. Excellent task management,problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be availableto work flexible hours and across continents. Experience SummaryAt least 2 years experience in live environmentOther QualificationsSQL on the database side is required (not Oracle).SBL is a must. Admin experience is needed, someone who manages and doesbreak/fixes on a daily basis. Admin needs experience with the moduleswithin Siebel, such as the sales mods, and so on. Needs experience withthe clustering involved within Siebel.Example: Client had a manager who was running a report this morning, theygot an error message from the analytics server that said they were havinga server issue, client wants this individual to be able to fix these typesof problems.
