The Application Developer/Administrator is a professional who will be responsible for design, implementation, security and operational support of third-party applications. The applications are critical production, financial and HR components and need to be installed and managed as such. This person will be the primary application administrator for the Publishing Workflow system. They will be responsible for management and administration of all publishing systems that involve production and editorial workflow and all business systems that integrate with this environment.
Requirements:
-Responsible for the administration and maintenance of applications, insuring data integrity and efficient performance through monitoring and tuning.-Responsible for installing application software and implementation of secure third-party application environments, using best practices for all hosted and installed clients. -Administer, maintain, develop and implement best practices, guidelines and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the applications.-Assist customers in defining and documenting business needs relative to database and computer application projects-Provide leadership and application expertise as part of a project team.-Works with others, including third-party vendors, to design, implement and support standard application configurations with standard database integration-Keep abreast of related technologies, evaluate and recommend new technologies-Participate in a 24X7, 365-day on-call, as required for application-related problems-Perform other duties as requiredPrimary Skills-Hands on experience with In Design & K4 in a Publishing environment-Understanding of all concepts and needs for editorial and production workflow through a complete cycle-Working knowledge of standard publishing tools including:oFlight CheckoPhotoshopoIllustrator-Comprehensive command of all Macintosh operating systems-Troubleshooting techniques involving production issues-Maintain relationships with vendors and act as the first point of contact regarding third-party application technical issues-Provide Level 2 support, cross train and provide knowledge transfer to the DSS and other IT personnel-Review, approve, apply and test patches, changes and/or modifications to third-party applications-Knowledge of database administration and some application development-Technologies also desired: HTML, XML, JavaScript, SQL, Crystal Reports
