A prestigious brokerage company located in NYC is seeking 12 consultants for a 12 month project. The Systems Operations team is involved in the production management of client-facing and internal trading systems across Equities and Derivatives including Algorithmic Trading, Program Trading, Futures Trading, Block Trading and Market Making. As part of the team, the person in this role will, under the guidance of the team leader, primarily focus on the following tasks:Execute routine system checkout and follow up on issues identified in the checkout.Using the monitoring systems to monitor the production environment including connectivity, capacity, etc.
Requirements:
Successful candidates should:Have more than 3 years of technology experienceShould be able to work in a high pressure environmentExcellent analytical abilities - should be able to piece together complex issues quicklyBe uncompromising in problem solving and desire to service clients, internal and externalAbility to roll up their sleeves. Strong work ethicStrong communication and interpersonal skillKnowledge of Unix environment is essentialPrior experience supporting Equities trading system at brokerage firms, ECNs (Instinet, Arca, etc.) or Exchanges (SIAC, NASDAQ, etc.) strongly preferredUnderstanding of the FIX protocol is a plusKnowledge of Perl and K-shell script a plus
