A prestigious brokerage company located in NYC is seeking someone to provide production support and project based new development. The Technology team is looking for a developer to join the tactical projects team. This team supports the Global Money Market Business and works on small to medium sized projects within our Short Municipal, Taxable and European business units. The ideal candidate will have experience in production support of technology and infrastructure, interact with the trading and sales desk to help resolve problems and issues, produce quality technical solutions for critical and time sensitive task, and work with team members on projects.Principal Responsibilities:*Understand existing and new business/technology flows.*Enhance existing services and participate in the redesign of existing services to handle money market business functionality.
Requirements:
Experience/Skills:*Languages: C, C++, motif, csh, ksh, PERL, JAVA, SQL*Strong communication skills (written & oral)*Operating System: UNIX (Solaris), Windows*Database: SYBASE*GUI, PERL and scripting language development a plus*Degree in computer science or technical equivalent *Minimum of 2 years programming experience. *Money Markets business knowledge a plus.
