Summary purpose of job:
Understand, investigate and document business issues. Also includes working with colleagues to identify, understand, and documentation possible solutions. Magazine groups Digital Media team is a global team that provides design, development, and systems/site management for magazine group web sites. The role will require some travel to other Group offices.
Key accountabilities:
Mastery of the current web services platform and participation in ongoing discussions to evolve the platform. The current platform is Oracle / Linux and ColdFusion and Java/ IIS/Windows.
Implementation of web new features, based on functional specifications and requirements from business owners and other members of the Digtal Media team.
Timely deployment of new features and follow-up to ensure their success.
Quality of your code and overall system stability when its deployed to production.
Understanding and appropriate use of the Project Framework and other Group standards.
Performance and reliability of Group Web Sites. This is accomplished by ensuring quality of changes you make to the sites and by responding quickly when problems arise.
Adherence to existing coding, documentation, and testing standards and participating in discussions to improve these standards.
Identification of technical innovations which improve quality and efficiency of Group web sites.
Appropriate use of Group IT project framework and other procedures within team
