Description
The developer's principal responsibility is to develop, maintain, enhance and deliver applications for the Broker Advisory Services Rep As Advisor platform offering.
Though responsibilities will vary, they will usually include:
Write, compile and deploy software
Document source code developed
Write unit tests and verify correct operation of programs through unit testing
Help Quality Assurance personnel design program tests
Maintain source code in code repository
Develop and maintain installation procedures, scripts or programs
Translate business requirements and logic into programming code
Stay abreast of technical developments
Integrate database interactions (stored procedures) into programs
Develop SQL stored procedures, User Defined Functions and Views
Adhere to programming standards
Maintain up-to-date documentation on program design and implementation
Ability to work independently ability to see projects to completion required
Requirements
Bachelors in Computer Science or a related field
5 or more years experience in application design and development, software engineering, and client-server programming
Ability to handle multiple projects, to effectively prioritize and to multi-task in a dynamically changing environment
Exposure to standard software development lifecycle/process
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of securities industry and / or related financial services experience
Negotiation, decision-making, problem solving, influencing skills
Experience with Microsoft SQL ServerPreferred
Managed Accounts - Domain knowledge
Experience with MS / C++ / J2EE architecture and application development
Extensive working knowledge in the following technology: object-oriented, XML, Java, C++ & MS SQL
