My client seeks a Assistant Network Administrator. The Assistant Network Administrator works with the Network Administrator for the implementation and maintenance of the company's network. Responsibilities include installation, configuration and maintenance of file servers, routers, switches, firewalls, personal computers, printers and other related equipment, devices, and systems. Monitor and maintain wired and wireless connectivity to the LAN, WAN and Internet. Assist User Support Technicians in providing support to users of the CPC Network as needed.
Novell Administrator Position Responsibilities:
* Network Maintenance and Administration
o Help ensure day-to-day function of all File Servers, Routers, Hubs, Switches and associated networking hardware.
o Assist in installation, maintenance and upgrades to MS and Novell Servers in various CPC locations.
o Monitor daily backup systems.
o Help maintain all current equipment with appropriate patches and drivers from all required vendors.
o Create and maintain user accounts in Novell, Groupwise and Active Directory.
o Serve as a contact for all network problems or repairs.
o On-hand/On-demand support and assistance in times of emergency.
o Assist in maintaining firewall, VPN and other network security.
* CPC e-mail system & Internet connections
o Assist in maintenance of GroupWise E-mail system, organization wide.
o Help with upgrades to E-mail Systems to new versions as planned.
o Maintain clients, addresses and proxies.
o Maintain Internet connectivity from multiple locations.
* Provide Backup support to PC users and senior technical support to IS Staff
o Assist in Help-desk PC support for the following applications: Microsoft OS workstations and desktops, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Volunteer Works, and FileMaker Pro. Knowledge of Mac OS a plus.
o Assist in managing the user environment utilizing Novell Zenworks.
o Provide AV support for CPC events and presentations.
