CDI Corporation has a position available for a long term (1 Year) contractor. Position is with a large/reputable computer corporation located in Rochester, NY Qualified applicants will possess the following skill sets and meet the following requirements:
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR:
This team is comprised of Intel, UNIX (Linux), and iSeries skilled individuals.
The team will use automated monitoring tools to alert them to problems, then they will perform problem determination and RESOLUTION.
Perform startup and shut down tasks for included Servers OS.
Perform startup and shut down tasks for customer applications.
Monitor and respond to system events for included Servers per the contract.
Perform and verify that the requested files were backed up when possible.
Perform data collection as defined in the contract and within the capabilities of the tools. Perform Performance Reporting as defined in the contract and within the capabilities of the tools provided.
Implement corrective actions approved by change mgmt process on base component s/w.
Implement corrective actions approved by the change mgmt process on Customer Component Hardware and Software.
Provide Prime Time support within the hours specified per the contract.
Assign a severity code to the problem per the terms of the contract.
Manage Base Component Problems.
Provide Reactive Problem source identification for identified base components.
Provide problem source identification for customer component software. Ownership of the Change Mgmt Process.
Adhere to Change Mgmt Process.
Define Maintenance Windows.
Execute with tools provided, the utilization and performance of identified base components.
Execute with tools provided the utilization and performance of identified customer components.
Execute with Tools provided specific reports.
Perform Security Health Checking to GSD331 Implementation of Accepted and Tested (If test system available) Hot Fixes, Patches & Service Packs
Use Reasonable efforts to provide and maintain virus and malicious software avoidance, detection, and elimination software for the Customer Components.
Comply with customer Hosting Security Obligations.
Define User ID authority with the exception of Root, authority other than "User"
Stop and Start Print Ques
Perform Ongoing Print Queue support Alternate Work schedule to cover 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Long term contract on site in Rochester NY 3rd shift.
