Position Summary
The IT Associate is responsible for designing and developing systems and programs for all components of our technology infrastructure. The IT Associate builds critical tools in a variety of web technologies, and builds and maintains customized programs in a LAMP environment. In addition to his/her regular duties, the IT Associate provides general technical and non-technical support within the office and works collaboratively with other departments as needed. The IT Associate reports directly to the IT Director.
Experience: • Maintaining all *NIX-based systems, including multiple web servers, LDAP servers and Asterisks servers.
• Building tools in website and other IT areas for in-office and external use.
• Understanding and assessing web technologies for integration into our infrastructure, including AJAX, PHP, HTML, CSS, JSP, XML, and Flash/Flex.
• Building and maintaining LAMP servers.
• Providing office technical and non-technical support as needed.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 1-2 years Web development experience (PHP, HTML, DHTML, AJAX, CSS, VB.NET, Linux, etc.).
• 2+ years experience using and operating in a LAMP environment.
• 1+ years experience with data modeling and database management systems.
• 1+ years experience with e-commerce.
• Systems and networking experience in Linux and Windows environments.
• Understanding of cross-browser and platform compatibility requirements.
• Good problem solving, organizational, interpersonal and team skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
