BASIC FUNCTION: As part of M&T's Technology division the Project Analyst IV would participate in the gathering and analysis of information for defining functional requirements, functional designs, development and implementation of the final project. Performs routine to complex analysis and research in support of business goals and strategies. Implements modifications to solve problems. These functions are performed with general guidance of a project manager. Assists in day-to-day support activities.RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the customers in addressing problems/ day-to-day issues of small to medium scope. Analyzes information, determines feasible solutions and make recommendations for resolution. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations to fulfill business requirements. Converts business requirements into functional specifications and functional designs on any scope assignments. Play a key role and an individual contributor on projects. Develops or oversees the development of project assessments and plans to include activities to be performed, estimated time frames and effort. Project manages small to medium scope efforts, direct junior resources and coordinate tasks. Adheres to all current standards and procedures and ensures all efforts are properly tested for routine to complex processes to ensure proper system functioning. Provides consultation services to internal customers, technicians and Bank departments on basic to intricate functions of supported mainframe or distributed applications. This may also include the review of system capabilities, operational procedures, forms marketing materials or cost analysis. Participates in planning and implementing new policies and procedures that will improve the performance and effectiveness of the department. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Team Leader and is competent to work on all phases of systems analysis and application support, independently. The Project Analyst IV possess a detailed functional understanding of the supported application (s) to assist in the successful processing of the system on a day to day basis and to maintain system integrity in thoroughly testing system modifications. The Project Analyst IV understands the strategic plans of the client and makes recommendations to assist them in meeting their goals.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of two to four years college with at least six years experience in a technology/systems analysis or operational support environment. Requires strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to understand development processes, procedures and methodologies. Solid knowledge of personal computers and the ability to effectively use word processing, spreadsheet and internal mail/scheduling software. Detail oriented, self-motivated, takes initiative to learn new skills and enhance overall knowledge. Must possess time management and organization skills. Able to handle multiple tasks in support of various assignments. Asserts ideas, encourages teamwork and acts as a role model.IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree preferred Preferred general knowledge of Commercial Lending Applications. Demonstrates a good understanding of the business area’s functions and operational processes. Demonstrates a high aptitude for complex problem analysis and resolution. Understands development processes and technical concepts. General awareness of the Bank’s application framework. Ability to lead or actively participate in vendor demonstrations, project presentations, design sessions, Functional Specification walk throughs
