Network Security Engineer in NEW YORK, NY

Responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and support of data / telecommunications networks, and related security devices & data center plant.<p>

Essential Job Duties:<br>
&#149; Architects, manages, monitors, supports, and troubleshoots computer networks and equipment, including switches, routers, and hubs, located at local and remote sites<br>
&#149; Architects, manages, monitors, supports, and troubleshoots network security devices, including firewalls, IDS systems, proxies, VPN appliances, anti-virus systems, anti-spyware systems, and authentication appliances, located and local and remote sites<br>
&#149; Architects, manages, monitors, supports, and troubleshoots telecommunications networks and equipment, including telephones, connectivity, voicemail systems, PBX systems, and IP telephony equipment<br>
&#149; Daily support of the following infrastructure components: Cisco 6500/MSFCs, T1/DS3/OC-3 WAN, Internet/BGP, business-partner switches/routers, Nokia/Checkpoint firewalls, Bluecoat proxies, RSA/SecurID ACE servers, Cisco Callmanager, Unity & IP Phones, Nortel PBX & phones, Voice gateways, Juniper SSL VPN, Riverbed WAN Accelerators, RSA EnVision central log management system, Data Center Plant, network monitoring systems.<br>
&#149; Architects, manages, monitors, supports, and troubleshoots connections to external entities, including connections to the Internet, market data providers, business partners, vendors, and other divisions <br>
&#149; Manages vendor relationships, assists with contract negotiation, and creates purchase orders for new equipment and services<br>
&#149; Strives to ensure that all systems achieve 100% uptime during business hours<br>
&#149; Creates and maintains written documentation and diagrams for supported systems<br>
&#149; Manages equipment in the data center, including the installation of equipment in racks and cabling. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.<br>
&#149; Provides support off-hours and remotely (i.e., from home) when needed<br>
&#149; Manages projects, including project definition, project plan development, resource allocation, and debriefing<br>
&#149; Supports and interfaces with other IT teams (Windows/Linux Infrastructure, Desktop Support, Trading Support & Development)<br>
&#149; Setting Security Policy & implementing security related initiatives.<p>

Experience: &#149; Bachelor&#146;s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field<br>
&#149; 8-10 years of experience supporting computer networks in a mission-critical environment (financial industry a big plus)<br>
&#149; Strong experience with IP addressing, routing, and switching<br>
&#149; Strong experience with Cisco, Check Point, and Nokia<br>
&#149; Experience with IDS (i.e., SourceFire), proxies (i.e., BlueCoat), and other networking-related technologies<br>
&#149; Understanding of real-time market data environments<br>
&#149; Certification and/or training with vendor-neutral or vendor-specific foci (CCNP a plus)<br>
&#149; Strong understanding of operating system administration (Windows, Linux)<p>
