Genesis10 has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Java Architect / Developer with Investment Banking and TIBCO to join one of the largest financial organizations in the world on a 6+ month contract basis. Project is located in Charlotte, NC.
Candidates should be senior Java developers who can perform object design and who understand the full SDLC, including proper use of SCM tools. Any knowledge of TIBCO EMS, RV or BW would be a plus.
The position will be responsible for tasks related to:
- Architecture, design, development and testing of highly scalable Java based components that work independently and/or that leverage Tibco's technology to provide middleware services.
- Provide technical support, ranging from system walkthroughs to tactical development, for in-house built and third-party sourced systems.
- Assist multiple teams with application and component deployments such as QA, roll out and product adoption.
- Because this is a team environment good communication skills, problem solving skills and a highly professional attitude are essential. The candidates must also show characteristics including strong work ethic, leadership, attention to detail, assertiveness and initiative.
Experience: Required Skills/Experience:
- Be proactive, a problem solver and work with minimum supervision when given a goal.
- Strong understanding of distributed technology with a minimum of 5 years Java development experience.
- Strong understanding of the Object-Oriented paradigm.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and JDBC.
- Strong knowledge of XML.
- Strong working knowledge with relational databases - preferably Oracle.
- Strong knowledge and experience with OLTP system.
- Knowledge in J2EE, EJB, DHTML, JMS, SOAP, Web Services.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience in Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, especially Agile methodologies such as eXtreme Programming.
- Good communication ability, analytical skills and a highly professional attitude are essential, as there will be business contact with end-users on the Trading Floor and in the Operations area.
- Experience building server-based components and understand XML.
- Experience with trading systems and financial instruments.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with TIBCO BusinessWorks (BW).
- Experience with TIBCO Enterprise Message Service (EMS) and Rendezvous (RV).
- Experience with Informatica PowerCenter (ETL).
- Experience with ERwin or ER Studio or data modeling in general.
