We are also a leading provider of reference and trade publishing for the medical, business, engineering and other professions.   Our Digital group has an immediate opening for a Content Engineer to  provide digital content expertise to the DPECM group and segment with a focus on the development of digital content management systems and XML process that will enable MHE to effectively tag, re-purpose, and distribute digital assets.   Essential Accountability   Responsible for and manages the ongoing development of the Digital Asset Library architecture, design and implementation; including the entire content lifecycle, including content management, publishing, and delivery.  Documents and presents solutions to various stakeholder groups, including enterprise-wide committees.  Content and system engineering for content development and workflow projects spanning the entire McGraw-Hill Education business. Designs and supports XML repositories and content development workflows used to facilitate content repurposing and the production of several thousand publishing projects annually. Leading role in product delivery architectures, including collaboration with Editorial, Design, Production and Media Technology to produce feasible solutions.  Engage media technology architects, segment and corporate architects to drive content management architecture adoption   Coordinates teams of developers on various projects, including status reporting to Project Management and the VP, Digital Asset Management.  Mentors less experienced content development SME's regarding best practices . KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:    A?         A minimum of 6+ years of XML content application development experience A?         Experience with architecting and coding generalized presentation solutions A?         Experience with architecting and coding XML-based content management systems A?         Experience with content editing and workflow solution A?         Extensive experience in gathering user requirements, creating design specifications, and working with development to team to implement the solution A?         In depth technical knowledge of software that contributes to our core systems, including writing XML, Mark Logic, Documentum, and Artesia. A?         Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment A?         Strong interdisciplinary communication, collaboration and relationship skills A?         Able to work with multiple businesses to meet business goals A?         5+ years of demonstrated progression and strong performance in a content based role in a media & information company. A?         Experience at understanding consumer trends and successfully applying that knowledge to process and systems development A?         Proficiency in the deployment of content management solutions for single locations and distributed usage A?         Global content experience a plus
